Bobby Jain: The Do's And Don'ts Of Shopping During The Holidays

By Jason McDonald

As we are in the midst of the holiday season, it's safe to assume that there will be ample shopping done as well. Bobby Jain and other minds in finance will agree, but one of the biggest challenges with this endeavor is saving as much money as possible. Believe it or not, there are ways to get the best gifts for your loved ones without breaking the bank. Here are a few holiday shopping do's and don'ts that will help you in this sense.

DO exercise creativity when it comes to presents. One of the common mistakes that people make, when it comes to gifts, is that they go for the most expensive ones. This doesn't have to be done, especially if you're in-tune with the unique interests your friends and family members have. Who's to say that you can't make gifts for them based on the interests in question? The more thought you put into these gifts, the more that the receivers will appreciate them.

DON'T leave shopping to particular days. Are you the kind of person that likes to wait until Black Friday to do the bulk of their holiday shopping? If so, you might be interested to know that deals can be found at virtually any time of the holiday season. This is especially true if you enjoy shopping online, as you're likely to find the items you want at lower prices. This is just one of many ways to help yourself, as names like Bob Jain will attest.

DO start shopping at the earliest possible time. There are many people that start their holiday shopping by November, but this isn't the case for everyone. As a matter of fact, there are many others that shop months in advance, which saves them considerable time. You should only do this, though, if you know that your loved ones will enjoy their presents come December. If you're confident in your gift-giving abilities, though, you're good to go.

DON'T confirm purchases without looking at the shipping. If you spend too little online, you might have to cover shipping costs that, simply put, add up. However, if you plan on doing the bulk of your shopping online, the shipping in question may be covered for you. To say that this saves shoppers money would be an understatement, especially if they're going to shop at different places. For those that are new to online shopping, this is one of the best money-saving tips to take advantage of.
