Besides sales, aligning with a brand that offers quality or another intangible asset can help raise the profile of the newer company looking to make a name for themselves.

Whether alone or in a partnership, loss leaders can be especially effective if a bundle item is created for a limited time sale. Creating a sense of urgency and offering an incentive can present interest to customers that have been dormant or have a history of large purchases. Offering a discount on a future purchase is one of the most preferred ways to ignite interest.

Holding a live or virtual event is one way to drive sales or build a customer base. This is great for those who are making their debut or need to move products and get information via survey. If there is a history of slow sales, putting on an event can serve many purposes, even if the main attraction is a loss leader.

Events do not have to be live, either, as some virtual sales work best when customers have access to a personal email or smartphone app that sends alerts. When novices start an email or mobile marketing campaign, sometimes they leave out important details of the event such as deep discounts on popular items. If there are recurring sales, it helps to not center around a theme or time of year.

Giveaway marketing programs can offer a lot to a business that is having success or may need an overhaul. In order to ensure success, the person planning the campaign needs to study the audience needs, as well as technology. In an era where many people make a living in sales and customer engagement, taking time to create a unique experience is sure to bring a return on the investment.
