How To Do Truck Advertising Right

By Rebecca Stevens

Product awareness has to be achieved in whatever way possible. Companies are constantly finding new ways to get their product out to the masses and to increase sales. Truck advertising is quickly catching on as a mode of product awareness. Key performance indicators have shown very promising numbers with a good percentage of the market reporting a good memory of the details on the side of a juggernaut. The ensuing increase in sales is also quite significant.

One may or may not own a truck. Both are fine. If not, they can hire one. Some companies will allow the client to paint on the body of such a vehicle. Others will provide vehicles with large LED screens on the sides. The ad is fed onto the screen by flash disk or some other storage device. If neither of these is an option for one reason or other, one can use a vinyl sheet. The ad is printed on there then spread across the body of the juggernaut mush like a billboard.

Having the lorry stay stationary defeats the purpose of a rolling billboard. A route should be mapped out for the lorry to follow. The map should put into consideration areas with high potential that could do better and areas that could possibly become major markets for the product. This map should be developed with a lot of finesse. It could mean the difference between returns on the ad efforts and a fruitless campaign.

The design of the ad must be simple. This is a rolling billboard. This means that it will be in transit. It only has a few seconds to catch attention and communicate a message then leave a lasting impression. This is hard to do when the design takes attention away from the message. There should be more images than words. Images will take a shorter time to deliver a message than words. The name of the product must be well visible and bold. It must leap off the surface. One must remember that less is more.

The colors used must be synonymous with the company or the product. For example, when one sees red and white and a soda bottle, they think coca cola. Enough said. The images used must also be relevant. The image on mentioned coca cola ad could be that of a sweaty person enjoying a cold drink. In this case, these two aspects could be enough to carry the message.

The company chosen for this job must have experienced professional. People who have great ideas that fit right into the vision and direction of your ad. People who do not aggressively push their opinions onto the client. People who will help the client make the best decisions possible nonetheless.

The cost of this must be put into consideration. Companies usually have a budget for this kind of thing otherwise the whole profit margin would go towards product awareness. The service firm chosen must be willing to give a free quote. One should ask about deals and discounts and their eligibility.

The driver of the vehicle must observe professionalism and ethics. They must be honest and follow the instructions of the client. They should follow traffic rules as a careless driver could dent the reputation of the product.
