These Are Some Of The Ways Of Facilitating Generosity In Ones Life

By Martha Murphy

In the world we live in today, the gap between the rich and the poor is growing by the day. This is not a good thing as the rich will always be given priority over the poor. Thanks to the many charitable organizations in play, the gap may actually reduce. The overly wealthy have the chance to uplift those who are not as lucky. The article discusses ways of facilitating generosity in your life.

To many, when they hear generous, they always feel that the benefits are one-sided. This is actually not the case. As much as generosity is giving and expecting nothing in return, there are some benefits. People who donate appear happier and healthier compared to every other person. This is mainly because they can change the society in their own little way.

Many are the times that people look at the negativity of life. People tend to look at what they do not have. You should learn to count your blessings. Think of all the things that you have in your life and appreciate them as no one can be as lucky as you. Seeing the positive in your life will always give you the motivation to help those who are not as lucky.

You should start small. The first time you will not be sure if you really want to donate. You may donate as little as possible. If it is a challenge for you to donate a small amount in person, you can always do it anonymously. Thanks to growth in technology, you can now make your donations online, and you never have to cross paths with the people involved.

We always make plans to spend money before we even receive the paycheck. Next time as you make the list of what you need to spend money on, include the donation. This will not help you in planning, but you will never miss the chance to help out. If you give it before spending money on anything else, you will hardly notice that you gave it away.

Another little sacrifice is giving up an expense for a period. For example, not taking java coffee every other Tuesday. Do this for about a month or about a month and a half. All the money that you will have saved, you may donate to a charity organization. You may be surprised at how much you will end up donating at the end of the set apart period.

If you are not sure on what organization to give to, do not worry. Find the one person you trust or even admire. Observe them for a while. What organizations they are involved with and how often they give. You can do this alongside them. You may also ask them to recommend another organization or help you pick one out.

Another option is to spend time with a generous person. This will give you an inside scope of their life. You can make inquiries like how they came about being generous. The answers may actually inspire you to be as generous as they are.
